You would be surprised, I think, how many people get caught unaware by the Stamp Duty for UK, when they are buying property there. You might think that it was mostly foreign folks that would be caught not knowing about this land tax that has been apart of England’s taxes for more than 300 years, but you would be wrong. It is surprising how many born and raised citizens of the United Kingdom that don’t understand this tax, called the Stamp Duty Land Tax, and how it effects them when buying property in the UK. Always do your homework anytime you want to buy property, so you don’t get caught unaware of a potentially expensive tax.
