A good acai research is not done in the USA because the acai berries are hard to obtain fresh in the US. Most of the acai berries are found in the rain forest countries such as in Brazil.
The acai palm trees are found a lot in swampy areas with little light. Since the acai berry grows in climates that are not native to the United States, getting fresh acai berries for research is pretty much impossible.
But scientists have found some ways to transport the acai berries such as using the freeze dry process on them to preserve them first.
