A phone book is not as useful as it was at one time. It has pretty much been replace by online telephone directories. This is because these online directories are easier and provide more information. Plus, the information is more up to date which means more accurate. I hate getting a wrong number, and I have never gotten one from the website phonebook.com. I always get quick and correct results with easy. Really, why would I spend all that time looking up a number in a traditional book directory when I could do it in less than half the time online.
