I know a few Spanish sentences but that’s about it. I use to watch Spanish tv but had no idea what they were talking about. Watching Spanish tv didn’t help me learn Spanish they just showed some interesting tv lets say. Maybe a good way to learn Spanish is watching American movies with the Spanish overlay. You can still read the lips of the actors but will hear the Spanish words, it’s possible. Sometimes watching an American movie with a Spanish overlay to it makes the movie even funnier for some reason. I’ll have to do that one day and see if I can learn anything.
